Children with Disabilities
Inclusive Education and Support
Children with disabilities in Cambodia continue to face significant barriers to education and care. The long-term impact of historical disruption to the country’s education system, combined with limited access to specialist services, means many children remain excluded from learning opportunities.
Some children experience isolation, lack of appropriate support, or are unable to attend school at all. Without early intervention and inclusive education, their potential can remain unrealised.
Since 2012, we have been working to change this. Our programme provides specialist care and tailored educational support, helping each child develop the skills, confidence, and independence they need to thrive.
At the heart of our approach is a commitment to meeting individual needs. Every child receives a personalised assessment, followed by a therapeutic plan designed to support their development in a safe, structured, and nurturing environment.
Our approach includes:
- Individualised support – Tailored learning and therapy plans for each child
- Therapeutic interventions – Support from trained staff and specialist volunteers in physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy
- Life skills development – Building independence through communication, personal care, and daily living skills
- Inclusive learning – Encouraging participation, choice, and social interaction in a supportive classroom environment
- Family support – Providing guidance and emotional support for families
Through this work, we aim to break down barriers, increase inclusion, and create opportunities for every child to participate in their community.
As children grow, some transition into the state school system, while others continue along pathways best suited to their individual needs—always with the goal of greater independence and opportunity.
With the right support, every child can learn, grow, and find their place in the world—and you can help make that possible.
